The Time Machine
Three eras, three missing parts and a closing time portal: an all-ages adventure on your team's phones.

About
Professor Chronos’s time machine broke down mid-journey, and three of its parts fell into three different eras. Your teams are the Professor’s assistants, sent to bring them back before the time portal closes.
The trip runs on GoQuest, TeamTika’s team game app, with each team on a phone or tablet. Three stops make up the journey: the Ancient World, a 19th-Century Old Town that will one day become Hoi An, and the City of 2100. The 12 tasks range from pyramids and centuries to the covered bridge, Victorian inventions, delivery robots and renewable energy, with living statues and a street seller trying to sell a smartphone in the 1800s.
The leaderboard runs live on the big screen. Before heading home, teams record a message to their future selves and invent something for the city of the future.
It works for all ages, so it suits both company events and family days.
Learning outcomes
Jumping between eras forces teams to think about context: what existed when, and what would make no sense at all. It is a fun way to practise careful reasoning.
Teams combine history, geography and maths knowledge from different members, then agree before answering once.
The future city tasks invite teams to imagine and pitch a new invention together, a light exercise in creative thinking.
The message to future selves gives everyone a moment to say what they hope the team will become.

Frequently asked questions
How many people can take part?
We run up to 30 teams per event, each playing on its own phone or tablet. Players join in the phone browser with a game code, so there is nothing to install. Tell us your headcount and we will suggest team sizes.
How long does the program take?
About 90 minutes of play, plus a short briefing at the start and the leaderboard reveal at the end.
Is it suitable for families?
Yes. The Time Machine was written for all ages, so it works for family days as well as adult teams.
Can this be run indoors or outdoors?
Both. The tasks only need the app and things found nearby, so it works in a meeting room, a hotel ballroom, a resort or a garden.
Is the game available in Vietnamese?
Yes. The Time Machine has full English and Vietnamese versions, and we set the language for each event.
