New Year Around the World
Chase midnight around the globe: a New Year quiz for international teams, played at the party table.

About
On the last night of the year, each party table boards a special flight chasing midnight around the world.
The flight runs on GoQuest, TeamTika’s team game app, with each table sharing a phone or tablet. Five stops make up the route: Vietnamese Tet, Korea and China, New Year in Europe, the Americas and Oceania, and the Midnight Countdown. There are 20 multiple-choice questions on New Year customs, from twelve grapes in Spain to white clothes on Brazil’s beaches, plus 5 table activities including greetings in three languages and a Statue of Liberty pose.
The leaderboard follows the flight live on the big screen.
With customs from every continent, it is especially good for international teams and guests.
Learning outcomes
Every question can be answered only once, and a wrong answer shows the right one straight away. Tables quickly learn to pool what everyone knows and agree before they tap, which is a small, fun lesson in deciding together.
Questions come in easy, medium and hard, worth 40, 60 and 80 points, so tables also have to judge when to trust a quick guess and when to talk it through.
The five table activities, photos, songs and short videos, get the whole table laughing together between courses and give quieter guests an easy way in.
Guests leave knowing more about how the world welcomes the new year, with a shared story from the evening.
