Secrets of the Pharaoh’s Tomb
Wake the secrets of the sands: a two-hour archaeology quest through an Egyptian tomb, played on your team's phones.

About
A telegram arrives from the Valley of the Kings: the tomb of Pharaoh Neferkamun has been found. He is the only king whose name was erased from every stone monument in Egypt, and your teams are the expedition sent to find out why. They have until sunset to reach his golden coffin.
The quest is played on GoQuest, TeamTika’s team game app. Each team carries a phone or tablet through five zones, one after another: the Dig Site, the Hall of Hieroglyphs, the Trap Room, the Temple of Anubis and the Golden Coffin Chamber. Along the way they tackle 25 tasks, from reading a hieroglyph key and dodging a sand trap to walking in profile like a tomb painting and posing as a living statue of a god.
The leaderboard runs live on the big screen. In the last chamber, teams open the coffin locks, read the final inscription and learn the king’s secret, then write a new line for his monument so the forgotten pharaoh is remembered.
It is history, puzzles and a fair bit of silliness, held together by one simple need: the whole team has to work as one to get there before the sun goes down.
Learning outcomes
Every chamber hides details that are easy to miss: a symbol on the wall, a number on a tile, a word in a riddle. Teams learn to slow down, look closely and compare notes before they answer, which is exactly what good analysis at work looks like.
With 25 tasks and a sunset deadline, nobody can do it alone. Teams naturally split into readers, calculators and performers, and quickly discover the value of trusting each other with a piece of the job. Because each answer can be sent only once, they also learn to agree before they commit.
The video, photo and audio tasks ask the whole group to move, pose and speak together. That shared silliness lowers barriers between departments and gives quieter people an easy way in.
The final task, writing a new inscription for a forgotten king, ends the session on reflection: what we want to be remembered for, as a team.
Program flow
-
1. The Dig Site
Teams receive the urgent telegram, gather their archaeologist's tools, measure the excavation pit and pose for an expedition photo.
-
2. Hall of Hieroglyphs
Teams use a symbol key to read names on the wall, count the carvings and film a synchronised walk like an Egyptian painting.
-
3. The Trap Room
Teams pick the safe floor tiles, work out how fast the sand is rising, solve a riddle on the stone door and slip through magic light beams.
-
4. Temple of Anubis
Teams answer the guardian's questions about ancient rituals, record a prayer at the temple gate and form a living statue of a god.
-
5. The Golden Coffin Chamber
Teams open the coffin locks, uncover why the king's name was erased, restore it in a short ceremony and see the final leaderboard.

Frequently asked questions
How many people can take part?
We run up to 30 teams per event, each playing on its own phone or tablet. Share your headcount and we will suggest how to split the teams.
How long does the program take?
Around two hours of play, plus a short briefing before the start and the leaderboard reveal at the end.
Do we need to know anything about ancient Egypt?
Not at all. Every question gives teams enough clues to work it out, and they pick up plenty of history along the way.
Can this be run indoors or outdoors?
Both. The tasks only need the app and whatever is around you, so it suits meeting rooms, ballrooms, resorts and gardens alike.
Is the game available in Vietnamese?
Yes. The quest has full English and Vietnamese versions, and we set the language for each event.
