El Dorado: City of Gold

About

It is 1925. In an old library in Lima, your teams find a Spanish monk’s journal from 1541 describing a city made of gold deep in the Amazon. The expedition sets off by dugout canoe to see if El Dorado is real.

The journey runs on GoQuest, TeamTika’s team game app, with each team on a phone or tablet. Five chapters lead the way: the Amazon River, Sun Tribe Village, Rainbow Falls, the Jungle Pyramid and the City of Gold. The 25 tasks mix geography, maths and riddles with paddling in rhythm, greeting a tribe without words, crossing a rope bridge hand in hand and singing around the campfire.

A live leaderboard keeps the race tight. At the end, the village elder asks the expedition to choose between fame and protecting the forest, and each team writes the last page of the journal.

It is an adventure with a heart: the real treasure turns out to be how the team treats each other and the world around them.

Learning outcomes

Meeting a tribe with no shared language, teams have to communicate with smiles, gestures and patience. It is a light, memorable way to practise respect and listening across cultures.

Paddling in sync and crossing the rope bridge together show how much a team's speed depends on rhythm and trust, not on its fastest member.

Number doors, rainbow riddles and pyramid steps reward teams that share ideas before answering, since each answer can be sent only once.

The final choice about the city of gold opens a short conversation on values and responsibility, which teams can carry back into how they make decisions at work.

Program flow

  1. 1. The Amazon River

Teams open the 400-year-old journal, plan the paddle to the next stop and film the crew paddling in perfect rhythm.

  2. 2. Sun Tribe Village

Teams invent a greeting without words, learn why the Amazon matters and sing a campfire song for their hosts.

  3. 3. Rainbow Falls

Teams climb beside the falls, solve the rainbow riddle, cross a rope bridge together and build a human rainbow.

  4. 4. The Jungle Pyramid

Teams count the pyramid steps, decode the number door and clap together to wake the pyramid's echo.

  5. 5. The City of Gold

Teams count the golden statues, make the expedition's final choice, write the journal's last page and see the leaderboard.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can take part?

We run up to 30 teams per event, each playing on its own phone or tablet. Players join in the phone browser with a game code, so there is nothing to install. Tell us your headcount and we will suggest team sizes.

How long does the program take?

About two hours of play, plus a short briefing at the start and the leaderboard reveal at the end.

Is there a message behind the adventure?

Yes. The final choice about protecting the forest gives the game a meaningful ending that fits sustainability and company values sessions.

Can this be run indoors or outdoors?

Both. The tasks only need the app and things found nearby, so it works in a meeting room, a hotel ballroom, a resort or a garden.

Is the game available in Vietnamese?

Yes. El Dorado: City of Gold has full English and Vietnamese versions, and we set the language for each event.
