The Zodiac Race
Twelve animals, five legs and one finish line: a zodiac quiz race for the party table.

About
Long ago, the Jade Emperor held a river-crossing race to choose the twelve animals of the zodiac. Now he has reopened the race to welcome the Year of the Goat 2027, and each party table is a racing team.
The race runs on GoQuest, TeamTika’s team game app, with each table sharing a phone or tablet. Five legs make up the track: Rat, Ox and Tiger; Cat, Dragon and Snake; Horse, Goat and Monkey; Rooster, Dog and Pig; and the finish line welcoming the Year of the Goat. There are 20 multiple-choice questions on the zodiac, the lunar calendar and the traditional hours of the day, plus 5 table activities from tiger poses to galloping horses.
The live leaderboard on the big screen turns the whole room into a race.
It is a quick, cheerful fit for year-end parties and Lunar New Year celebrations.
Learning outcomes
Every question can be answered only once, and a wrong answer shows the right one straight away. Tables quickly learn to pool what everyone knows and agree before they tap, which is a small, fun lesson in deciding together.
Questions come in easy, medium and hard, worth 40, 60 and 80 points, so tables also have to judge when to trust a quick guess and when to talk it through.
The five table activities, photos, songs and short videos, get the whole table laughing together between courses and give quieter guests an easy way in.
Guests leave knowing more about the zodiac and the lunar calendar, with a shared story from the evening.
Program flow
-
1. Rat, Ox and Tiger
Tables answer how the Rat won the race and when the Hour of the Rat falls, then pose as oxen and tigers.
-
2. Cat, Dragon and Snake
Tables name Vietnam's fourth zodiac animal and the mythical one, then record a meow, a roar and a hiss.
-
3. Horse, Goat and Monkey
Tables place 2026 and the next Monkey year in the cycle, then film a galloping horse finish.
-
4. Rooster, Dog and Pig
Tables find the last animal and the four clashing signs, then build the oldest guest's zodiac animal.
-
5. Welcoming the Year of the Goat
Tables answer questions on the Year of Dinh Mui 2027 and count down to the finish line together.
