Operation Jailbreak
Framed, locked up and out of time: a one-hour indoor escape on your team's phones.

About
Your teams have been wrongly locked up in Greystone Island prison. Old Sam, a cellmate who has just been released, has left behind a three-step escape plan. Break out before the midnight roll call, and take the evidence that proves you are innocent.
The breakout runs on GoQuest, TeamTika’s team game app, with each team on a phone or tablet. Three steps lead to freedom: Cell Number 7, the Warden’s Office and the Freedom Tunnel. The 12 tasks include tally marks, invisible lemon ink, a keypad code, a Caesar cipher, the guards’ shift change and a bag of papers that may or may not prove your alibi.
Along the way teams pose for mugshots, act out a guard distraction and sing their way out of the tunnel. The leaderboard runs live on the big screen.
It ends in court, where each team writes a short statement proving its innocence.
Learning outcomes
Escaping takes planning: the right code, the right minute and the right evidence. Teams practise working out a sequence and timing it together.
The proof of innocence task asks teams to sort useful evidence from noise, a simple version of the judgement calls people make at work every day.
The guard distraction scene needs one person to act and everyone else to cover, a playful lesson in supporting a teammate's move.
Writing the court statement gives each team practice in making a short, clear case.
Program flow
-
1. Cell Number 7
Teams read Old Sam's letter, count the tally marks, reveal the invisible ink and pose for a team mugshot.
-
2. The Warden's Office
Teams crack the keypad, decode where the key is hidden, pick the right moment and distract the guard.
-
3. The Freedom Tunnel
Teams finish digging, choose the evidence that proves their innocence and sing a freedom song outside the fence.
-
4. Court
Teams write their statement to the court and gather for the final leaderboard.

Frequently asked questions
How many people can take part?
We run up to 30 teams per event, each playing on its own phone or tablet. Players join in the phone browser with a game code, so there is nothing to install. Tell us your headcount and we will suggest team sizes.
How long does the program take?
About an hour of play, plus a short briefing at the start and the leaderboard reveal at the end.
Is the prison theme too dark for a company event?
Not at all. It is a light, comic escape story about proving your innocence, with mugshot poses and a freedom song rather than anything grim.
Can this be run indoors or outdoors?
Both. The tasks only need the app and things found nearby, so it works in a meeting room, a hotel ballroom, a resort or a garden.
Is the game available in Vietnamese?
Yes. Operation Jailbreak has full English and Vietnamese versions, and we set the language for each event.
