Treasure of the Imperial Citadel

About

Legend says a wise and kind king hid the Treasure of Peace inside the Imperial Citadel before he gave up his throne, leaving clues in poems, couplets and royal decorations. Your teams are young historians invited by the museum to solve the mystery.

The quest runs on GoQuest, TeamTika’s team game app, with each team on a phone or tablet. It moves through five zones inspired by the royal court of Hue: the Noon Gate, the Throne Hall, the Royal Garden, the Royal Library and the Secret Chamber. The 25 tasks mix Vietnamese history and culture with number puzzles, Han characters, folk verses and lively photo, video and audio challenges.

A live leaderboard keeps every team in the race. In the Secret Chamber, teams open the zodiac lock and discover what the king’s treasure really is.

The story is fictional, but the culture is real, which makes this a natural choice for international guests and for teams who want to know Vietnam better.

Learning outcomes

Each clue is hidden in culture: a proverb missing its last word, a character that looks like three mountain peaks, a gate named after the hour of noon. Teams learn to read context carefully and combine what different members know.

Twenty-five tasks across five zones push teams to share the work and trust each other's strengths, whether that is maths, history or performing a formal royal bow on cue.

The photo, video and audio tasks bring everyone together in front of the camera, from guards at the gate to a living lotus flower.

The finale asks each team to leave advice for future generations, ending the game on shared values rather than just a score.

Program flow

  1. 1. The Noon Gate

Teams receive the museum's invitation, decode the gate's name, count its doors and pose as the citadel's royal guard.

  2. 2. The Throne Hall

Teams answer questions on royal colours and sacred creatures, complete a carved couplet and perform a formal royal bow.

  3. 3. The Royal Garden

Teams count blooming lotuses, finish a folk verse, form a lotus flower together and recite poetry by the pond.

  4. 4. The Royal Library

Teams read Han characters, count the library's books and film a ceremonial calligraphy master at work.

  5. 5. The Secret Chamber

Teams crack the zodiac lock, uncover the Treasure of Peace, record their wishes and see the final leaderboard.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can take part?

We run up to 30 teams per event, each playing on its own phone or tablet. Players join in the phone browser with a game code, so there is nothing to install. Tell us your headcount and we will suggest team sizes.

How long does the program take?

About two hours of play, plus a short briefing at the start and the leaderboard reveal at the end.

Do foreign guests need to know Vietnamese history?

No. Every question gives enough context to work out the answer, so international teams enjoy it and learn a lot about Vietnam along the way.

Can this be run indoors or outdoors?

Both. The tasks only need the app and things found nearby, so it works in a meeting room, a hotel ballroom, a resort or a garden.

Is the game available in Vietnamese?

Yes. Treasure of the Imperial Citadel has full English and Vietnamese versions, and we set the language for each event.
